Bernie Shaw - 07/11/2010 I bought my Super Cub LP directly from SN Hobbies in New Westminster in early June, 2010. I found Delfin to be knowledgeable and friendly. Their store is very well stocked with replacement Super Cub LP parts and lots more. This model was very easy to assemble using the manual as a guide. I also bought a computer simulator, and used it for a couple of weeks before heading down to the park.
I highly recommend that you do a lot of research using forums, Google and You Tube etc. before making any purchases. You don't want to buy something that's obsolete before you get it home.
I've personally had this experience.
I bought MAAC insurance and joined a local flying club to get proper flight instruction.
This model is very easy to fly(it almost flies itself). I personally found that take-offs and landings were the real challenge!
I also found that this model can really take a beating and just keep flying. This is a trainer without ailerons, but this is a good thing.
It's a 3 channel FM transmitter and receiver, with rudder, elevator, and throttle. The rudder and elevator combination make for a simplified control, that works almost like ailerons.
It comes with ACT, an automatic Anti-Crash Technology. It's a switch on the transmitter that you can turn on or off. I still haven't had to use it yet.
It also has an X-Port that allows for some interesting accessories.
The 480 motor has more than enough power! I usually fly it at about 1/2 throttle, getting 15 minute flights easlily. I bought an exta battery, so I can be charging one, while flying with the other.
I highly recommend this as a beginner model. You won't believe how fast you'll be learning how to fly!
